Week 14

We had a second ultrasound appointment this week to look for early signs of genetic abnormalities. No abnormalities seen so far!  We watched one of you swallow and the other one kick your sibling in the face.  It was fun to see how much movement you two are capable of.  Your dad was very surprised with all that movement that I still cannot feel anyting--but not yet...I hope I will get to feel you two moving soon.  

How far along? 14 weeks; 6 days! 

Materiny clothes? Not needed yet!

Stretch marks? Not yet. Still trying to remember to use lotion to prevent them.

Sleep? The doctor recommended a sleep aid to help with nausea.  It is also helping us sleep like a log!! Loving it!


Best moment this week? Seeing you two move on ultrasound was incredible! Your Grandma and Grandpa Beesley came to visit this week! 

Have you told Family and Friends?  Everyone is excited about our growing family. This week we posted about you both on Facebook!

Movement? Not yet but soon I hope

Food cravings?   Pasta! I want anything with Pasta!! I also want anything we can't have, like blue cheese and sushi.

Anything making you sick? First week with no morning sickness!

Have you started to show yet? Hard to distinguish showing from food baby... A very minor baby bump noted this week.  


Gender prediction? Can't wait to find out! We scheduled our appointment for the 20 week ultrasound!!

Happy or Moody most of the time? I am thrilled to be done puking! Feeling more excited about the pregnancy now that I can eat again!

Week 10.5

This week we got to tell your Grandparents and your Aunts and Uncles about you!  We told your Grandparents over Skype.  The response was great! (see below pictures!)

Week 7

So we had our first ultrasound this week and received some interesting news.  There are two of you!!!! We had joked about twins but we never really thought it was a possibility. After the ultrasound, we sat in the car staring at each other for 20 minutes unsure of how to proceed.  Wow! Twins! We are so blessed with twins and cannot wait to meet both of you!   Sorry about the lack of pictures- we were so shocked by the news the week got away from us.

So the debate is scary pumpkin or Cheshire Cat?


How far along? 7 weeks; 4 days!

Sleep? Sleeping as much as possible and as long as possible


Best moment this week? Seriously?? TWINS!!!

Have you told Family and Friends? We shared our news of twins with a few close friends.

Food cravings?   This week began the morning sickness period!  Too many to count food aversions! I am eating mostly crackers and cottage cheese.

Gender prediction? No, but then agains I also didn't know there were two babies so my predictions may not be that accurate.

Week 6

I went to our first doctor appointment this week. It was very exciting to learn more about what to expect and how to take care of you right now.  We scheduled an ultrasound for 1.5 weeks!  I cannot wait to see you.  Only 4 ish more weeks until we can see you with the ultrasound at work!!!  

Uncle Dan, Aunt Jacq, Cousin Juliana and Cousin Samuel are very excited to meet you! Although Cousin Samuel's response was harder to understand :)

Sleep? I am waking up more often and not sleeping as deeply. 


Best moment this week? We had a doctor appointment  on Thursday. We are learning so much about you!

Food cravings?   Nothing specific but we have definitely experienced some food aversions.

Happy or Moody most of the time? I am more emotional this week.  Still very excited but very over the dizziness.

Weekly Wisdom? That moment when all of your friends are dieting and exercising and you are just pregnant like "baby wants a cupcake."

Milestones? Telling a select few friends about you!

Week 4

Oh my gosh.  Today was an incredible day.  I took a pregnancy test this morning fully expecting it to be negative. I mean hey, lets be realistic the last 25 tests have been negative, why should this one be any different? It was one of those tests where there are lines and you have to interpret them.  There were two lines. One nice bold line and one very, very faint line. Now since I also took a pregnancy test on Sunday (today is Tuesday) that was negative, I was afraid to get too excited about the two lines.  What if it was a false positive? (I don't think those occur very often but hey I had just woken up).  So I thought to myself, Self: let's take another test before we get excited.  Only problem was I didn't have to pee anymore.  So plan B, go downstairs, act normal around Chris, and chug a lot of water while eating breakfast. Hardest part of the plan was acting normal part. Chris kept asking me are you ok? or what's up? Apparently I'm not so good at keeping secrets.  So after chugging 3 glasses of water, I decide to try again.  This time with a less cryptic test that says pregnant or not pregnant.  Pregnant. After 15 minutes of repeating Oh my gosh.  I decide I should probably tell Chris.  Hoping this day would happen at some point, I had ordered a New Dad 2015 (rookie dept.) shirt for Chris.  I told him that I had purchased a new shirt for him but I was nervous he wasn't going to like it. I asked him to try it on with his eyes closed. This is his face after he read it! He was so excited.

Sleep? I am exhausted all the time and therefore I am sleeping well.   keep having very vivid dreams.  They continue to be very odd. One night I dreamt that I was diabetic and another night I dreamt about a client of mine. 


Best moment this week? We found out today that we are expecting! Best moment ever! We have wanted this for a very long time. 

Have you told Family and Friends? Not yet! We plan to wait to tell family around week 8! 

Movement? Not yet; it's way too early

Food cravings? No specific cravings but I am HUUUNGRY!!!

Anything making you sick? Very minor nausea but no overt morning sickness yet.

Gender prediction? No inclination either way yet.  I started looking at gender predictors. The Chinese Gender predictor says....Girl!

Labor Signs? Noooo. Wayyy too early!

Happy or Moody most of the time? We just found out that we are pregnant. I am so thrilled with the news!

Weekly Wisdom? When your wife is pregnant, do not eat the last of anything :)

Milestones? Finding out we are pregnant after trying for 7 months!
